This work is a site-specific video and audio walk (English and French versions) that lasts 16 minutes and 40 seconds. Equipped with a digital video camera, a videotape and headphones, the visitor begins the walk at a precise location within the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Guided by the artist’s voice, the visitor interacts with the surrounding space while viewing a colour video. During the walk, the viewer is led to specific sites in and around the Museum. |
The work is an audio and video recording that lasts 16 minutes and 40 seconds. The visitor is given a digital video camera with videotape and headphones. The walk begins at a specific location of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and continues in the Museum’s vicinity.
A compartmented storage unit is used to store the technical equipment: digital video cameras, headphones, digital videocassettes (French and English versions), batteries and battery chargers. |
1- Check for proper functioning of all technical equipment including cameras, tapes, headphones and batteries.
2- Install the compartmented storage unit with the technical equipment: digital video cameras, headphones, digital videocassettes (French and English versions), batteries and battery chargers.
3- Give the visitor a set of headphones and a camera with charged batteries containing a videotape.
4- Show the visitor how the camera works using the applicable controls.
5- Show the visitor the exact location where the walk begins.
6- Ask the visitor to return the technical equipment once the walk is finished. |
