Constant bit rate   (French Equivalent: Débit binaire constant)

DefinitionRefers to video or audio encoding where the bitrate used doesn't fluctuate. While CBR audio is actually rather common, being used for such technologies as CD-A (standard audio CDs), Dolby Digital, and even many MP3 files.
