Curating New Media was the third BALTIC International Seminar held in Gateshead in May 2001, jointly organised by Sarah Cook and Beryl Graham (University of Sunderland) and Vicki Lewis (BALTIC). Over the courses of three days, eighty artists, curators, producers and catalysts assembled to discuss the delights and dangers inherent in producing, distributing and exhibiting new media art. The invited speakers (listed below) detailed their experiences in the field of networked art production - both on the Web and in actual space.

Tamas Banovich (Postmasters Gallery)
Vuk Cosic (artist)
Matthew Gansallo (Tate Gallery)
Karen Guthrie and Nina Pope (artists)
Iliyana Nedkova (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology)
Julian Stallabrass (Tate Gallery and Courtauld Institute)
Jon Thomson and Alison Craighead (artists)
Mark Tribe (Rhizome)

The results of these engaged debates are presented here in the sixth in the B.READ series of books published by BALTIC. Edited reports of the seminar proceedings are also available on CD-ROM from CRUMB: The Curatorial resource for Upstart Media Bliss (University of Sunderland).
