The ICC (NTT InterCommunication Center) is actively involved with introducing media artworks which employ the newest electronic technologies, such as virtual reality and interactive technology. Their current exhibition is entitled Light InSight. It explores new perspectives on light as material and medium, since the advent of digital technology, optical devices, nano- and bio-technology, and other related tools of the 21st century. The exhibition is built upon a mixed group of emerging and renowned artists, such as Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik, Anthony McCall, Yukio Fukimoto, Jochem Hendricks and the collective alien productions, some of whom took part in the accompanying Symposium and Workshop.

Throughout the year, the ICC also dedicates part of the gallery to a project called Open Space. The idea is to provide a free community space encouraging dialogue between technology and art. Open Space is divided into four zones: art & technology; research & development; network; and archive zone. These zones combine exhibition spaces for emerging artists, access to research by the private, public and academic sectors, as well as documentation resources and two chronologies on art and social/cultural trends in the 20th century. The works at Open Space 2008 are presented free of charge until April 19th, 2009.
