..Each year students have examined interactive multimedia works from the 1990s to assess risks to their longevity and to propose conservation actions. In addition, the past two years have included working with New York City museums on media installations. Pedagogical approaches for the course will be shared, along with observations and insights resulting from these projects. Also discussed will be issues such as balancing technical knowledge and concepts in an environment of largely untested theories for conserving complex media artworks.
